Vehicle Fatally Strikes Pedestrian on 5 Freeway near Old Town Neighborhood

 
OLD TOWN, CA (October 16, 2023) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on 5 Freeway near the Old Town neighborhood Saturday evening on October 14.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. between the Old Town Avenue exit and the Moore Street on-ramp. According to California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking on the freeway when they were struck by the vehicle.
 
The impact caused the pedestrian fatal injuries and they died at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
 
It is unclear of the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
