1 Person Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 2, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by two cars on Pacific Coast Highway near Maine Avenue.
 
According to Long Beach police officers, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 4:25 a.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver left the scene after hitting a person on the road. Subsequently, a second driver struck the victim, but that driver stayed and waited for the police.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to find the victim with life-threatening injuries. However, despite receiving care, the pedestrian passed away at the scene. Officials have not released the person’s name.
 
In the investigation, authorities learned that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
