Loose Tire Causes Two Vehicles to Collide on 215 Freeway in Riverside Killing One

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 15, 2022) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on 215 Freeway in Riverside on Tuesday morning, June 14.
 
The accident happened around 7:54 a.m. at 91 Freeway. CHP officials said a loose tire crossed from the southbound side of the 215 Freeway to the northbound side coming to rest in the middle lanes. A white Ford crossover vehicle and silver Toyota Tacoma collided while avoiding the tire.
 
As a result of the crash, one person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Reports from the scene indicated the tire came from a green Chevrolet Suburban that was heading southbound on 215 Freeway just north of West Blaine Street. That car came to rest in the center divider.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatal accident.
