SOUTH EL MONTE, CA (July 18, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Thienes Avenue and Parkway Drive in South El Monte on Saturday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:05 p.m. on July 15, at the entrance to a bike trail. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck the victim in unclear circumstances.
 
First responders pronounced the unidentified victim dead at the scene.
 
It was unclear if the victim was on a bicycle or on foot.
