Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Train in Accident on Pilgrim Terrace at Modoc Road in Santa Barbara

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (January 4, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Pilgrim Terrace on December 27.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Modoc Road shortly after 10:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, a possible Amtrak train struck the victim. Firefighters and other emergency personnel arrived at the railroad tracks to respond to the incident. However, the details that led to the crash were not yet available.
 
Unfortunately, the Santa Barbara City Fire Department said the pedestrian died at the scene. As of now. personnel from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau have not yet released the victim’s identity.
 
In addition, additional details were not immediately available. At this point, information as to why the victim was at the tracks at the time of the crash was not yet clear. Also, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
