Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Sedan at Heacock and Sandbow Streets in Moreno Valley

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (April 19, 2022) – One person died in a pedestrian accident at Heacock Street and Sandbow Street in Moreno Valley on Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 9:45 a.m. on April 15 near the Poorman Reservoir. According to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station, the pedestrian was trying to cross the street when a black Hyundai Sonata struck them.
 
The intersection does not have a marked and designated crosswalk for pedestrians.
 
When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian suffering from major traumatic injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene.
 
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
Alcohol and/or drug intoxication are not considered as contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
