Early Morning Pedestrian Crash on 5 Freeway in Sacramento Ends in Fatality

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 1, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in Sacramento early Wednesday morning on November 23.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:14 a.m. at the Richards Boulevard off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford Mustang struck the pedestrian who was walking on the right shoulder.
 
First responders provided medical aid to the pedestrian, but the unidentified victim died at the scene.
 
It is unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the crash and whether alcohol and/or drugs was a factor.
