Multi-Vehicle Pileup on 880 Freeway in Hayward Leaves 1 Dead

 
HAYWARD, CA (October 15, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle pileup on 880 Freeway in Hayward early Thursday morning on October 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m. just north of West A Street near the San Lorenzo border. According to the California Highway Patrol, at least six to eight vehicles collided along the southbound freeway.
 
Officers arrived and cofirmed one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The name, age and city of residence of the victim were not immediately available.
 
There were no further details about the casualties at this time. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
