Fatal Fiery Accident on Avalon Boulevard in Carson Involves Two Vehicles

 
CARSON, CA (June 2, 2021) – One person was killed in a fiery accident on Avalon Boulevard in Carson Monday evening, May 31.
 
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused one vehicle to burst into flames.
 
The driver and sole occupant of the burned vehicle died at the scene.
 
The other driver suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.
 
Investigators were reviewing surveillance video to determine what led to the crash. They are also trying to determine if speed or intoxication was a factor.
 
Avalon Boulevard was closed from University Drive to Elsmere Drive for several hours during the investigation.
