Officer, 3 Others Hurt in 2-Car Accident on Highway 17 in Santa Cruz

 
SANTA CRUZ, CA (December 21, 2023) — An officer was among four people injured in a rollover accident on Highway 17 near La Madrona Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened Sunday night. For an unknown reason, a driver of a 2000 Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a police officer’s car, causing the Jeep to roll over.
 
As a result, the 24-year-old officer suffered unknown injuries and was brought to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver and passengers of the Jeep were taken to Dominican Hospital.
 
Following the collision, officers closed Highway 17 for 40 minutes for the investigation, which proved neither drugs nor alcohol played a role.
