Rider Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 280 Freeway in Cupertino

 
CUPERTINO, CA (December 7, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 280 Freeway in Cupertino, early Saturday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:19 a.m. on December 4 at the De Anza Boulevard off-ramp. According to the CHP, the motorcyclist was riding south on the freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
After hitting the victim, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
The motorcyclist was knocked down on the road and was hit by several other vehicles.
 
Officers arrived and found the victim with fatal injuries. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office withheld the identity of the motorcyclist pending next of kin notification.
 
Authorities are still investigating the fatal crash. They urged anyone with information about the incident or the initial vehicle that struck the victim contact them at 408-961-0900.
