Police Arrest 56-Year-Old Mark Penoli after Police Chase in Santa Rosa

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (November 8, 2021) – Police arrested 56-year-old Mark Penoli of Sonoma after a police chase on Highway 12 on Saturday, October 30.
 
The incident started around 6:50 p.m. in the Montgomery Village area. Police attempted to stop Penoli who was speeding in a gray Jeep Cherokee. Penoli failed to stop, prompting police officers to start a chase.
 
The pursuit continued to Bennett Valley Road and then west onto Highway 12, where Penoli crashed into another vehicle after he ran a red light near the Mountain Hawk Way intersection.
 
Penoli sustained minor injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital.
 
The other driver was treated at the scene. He was not seriously injured.
 
Police later arrested Penoli on suspicion of committing two felony counts of evading officers causing injury. They booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
 
The Santa Rosa Police Department is investigating the crash.
