Marc Broussard Dies in DUI Accident on Highway 36 in Carlotta

 
CARLOTTA, CA (March 8, 2021) – Police identified Marc Broussard as the victim of a fatal accident on Highway 36 on February 27.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near mile marker 15.50 around 9:37 PM.
 
Based on a report, a 2006 Dodge 3500 pickup truck crossed over the double yellow lines. Subsequently, it crossed into the path of the victim’s BMW and crashed into the car head-on. The driver of the Dodge pickup truck, 31-year-old Andrew Harmon, left the scene of the crash before police arrived.
 
As a result, officials said 61-year-old Marc E. Broussard of Blocksburg, died in the incident. Prior to that, officers arrived at the scene, they sent two people in the 2006 BMW sedan to St. Joseph Hospital with major injuries. Broussard died hours later.
 
Later on, officials found and arrested Harmon in Rio Dell. They booked him on charges of DUI causing injury, hit-and-run causing injury and gross vehicular manslaughter. At this point, the CHP Humboldt Area office is still investigating the case.
