Motorcycle Accident on Highway 152 in Watsonville Kills Couple

 
WATSONVILLE, CA (August 11, 2021) – A man and woman died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 152 east of Watsonville Saturday, August 7.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 2:00 p.m. on the highway, also known as Hecker Pass Road, just east of Carlton Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 26-year-old man in a Ford F-550 pickup was entering the westbound lane from a private driveway. The couple, both from Hollister, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. They were using the eastbound lane to pass other vehicles in the westbound lane.
 
The 43-year-old man swerved to avoid the truck, and both he and his passenger were thrown onto the roadway. The man died at the scene.
 
The 41-year-old woman was rushed to Watsonville Community Hospital, where she also died.
 
The names of the pair were not immediately available from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
 
CHP officials are still investigating this fatal crash.
