Man Riding Motorized Scooter Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on La Media Road in Otay Mesa

 
OTAY MESA, CA (February 21, 2023) — A man riding a motorized scooter died in a hit-and-run accident on La Media Road near Airway Road.
 
According to San Diego police officers, the deadly hit-and-run happened around 8:00 p.m. Sunday. For unknown reasons, a 43-year-old man riding a motorized scooter fell off his vehicle in the 1900 block of La Media Road. Subsequently, a large vehicle, perhaps a big rig, struck the man leaving him with a skull fracture and rib fractures.
 
Moments later, emergency personnel responded yet only to pronounce the victim deceased on arrival.
