Man Killed in Thee-Car Accident on Highway 101 near Highway 128 [Cloverdale, CA]

Three-Car Accident on Highway 101 in Cloverdale Kills 44-Year-Old Lake County Man

 
CLOVERDALE, CA (March 18, 2021) – A 44-year-old Lake County man died in a three-car accident on Highway 101 in Cloverdale Wednesday morning, March 17.
 
The accident happened around 5:20 a.m. just north of the Highway 128 off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a silver Kia Forte when he lost control for unknown reasons. The car then hit a guardrail, overturned and landed on its wheels, facing the northbound traffic.
 
A Kia Optima then sideswiped the Forte before pulling over to the shoulder.
 
Moments later, a Chrysler 200 slammed head-on into the Forte. The impact ejected the Forte’s driver to the pavement, killing him.
 
Two male passengers in the Forte sustained moderate to major injuries. Paramedics took them to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for proper treatment.
 
Neither of the two other drivers involved in the accident was seriously injured.
 
The CHP is still investigating whether alcohol played any role in the crash.
