Man Dies while Riding Scooter on Highway 99 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (April 14, 2023) – A 22-year-old man was killed while riding a scooter on Highway 99 in Fresno early Wednesday morning on April 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m. near Fresno Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding northbound on the freeway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
 
The impact ejected the man from the scooter onto the lanes of the highway.
 
The driver attempted to pull the man from the roadway, but due to the approaching traffic was unable to do so, the victim was struck at least twice by passing traffic.
 
As a result, the unidentified man died at the scene.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
