Hit-and-Run Vehicle Fatally Strikes Pedestrian on 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass

 
CAJON PASS, CA (April 14, 2023) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass early Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:32 a.m. on April 12. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking south along the northbound side of the freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.
 
Responding officers found the man lying in the middle of the traffic lanes, unresponsive. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
After a brief search, officers found a driver at the Circle K on Ranchero Road next to the freeway with damage and blood on the vehicle. At this time, this was the only vehicle they found.
 
The identity of the pedestrian was not immediately available.
