Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 680 [San Jose, CA]

Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 680 on-ramp and South Jackson Avenue

 
SAN JOSE, CA (February 8, 2023) — A man died following a pedestrian crash on Highway 680 on-ramp and South Jackson Avenue.
 
Officers with the San Jose Police Department responded to the scene around 7 a.m. on Monday, February 6.
 
When officers arrived at the area, they found a pedestrian lying on the crosswalk where the vehicle hit him, officials said.
 
Paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to sustained injuries and died, police said. His identity is not immediately available, pending notification of loved ones.
 
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
This was the first pedestrian fatality in San Jose this year.
