Cyclist Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on McHenry Avenue in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (November 9, 2023) — A man died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on McHenry Avenue near Sylvan Avenue.
 
According to Modesto police officers, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a white- or light-colored Kia Soul struck a man riding a bike across McHenry Avenue.
 
Instead of pulling over, the Kia driver fled southbound immediately after the accident, leaving the victim with grave injuries.
 
Soon after, police officers and paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a hospital where he later died.
