Driver Dies after Colliding with Big Rig near Nees and Russell Avenues in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2022) – A man died in a big rig accident near Nees Avenue and Russell Avenue, late Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on April 8. According to the California Highway Patrol, a three-axle truck carrying livestock feed was traveling westbound on Nees Avenue when an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu started to drift over.
 
The big rig swerved to avoid the crash and the Malibu hit one of the axles, causing the big rig to roll over. The man driving the Malibu was ejected from the crash.
 
Officers arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig was unhurt.
 
Officers did not rule out drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
