3 Hurt in Wrong-Way Accidents on 215 Freeway in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 29, 2024) — Three people suffered serious injuries in several wrong-way crashes on the 215 Freeway near the 60 Freeway interchange.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wrong-way accident happened around 2:00 a.m. Sunday. For DUI reasons, a driver drove in the wrong direction on the 215 Freeway. Subsequently, the black Dodge struck two cars near the 60 Freeway transition and another three vehicles before taking off on foot.
 
Soon after, CHP officers and paramedics arrived and found three people with injuries, including two patients with major wounds. Fortunately, none of the injured suffered life-threatening injuries.
 
During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect fled on foot but found the individual on Day Street before taking him into custody. Now, the driver faces DUI and hit-and-run felony charges.
