Driver Dies after Alleged DUI Crash on Road 144 in Tulare County Injuring Another Motorist

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2022) – One driver died and another was injured in a DUI head-on accident on Road 144 in Tulare County on Thursday evening.
 
The accident happened on April 7 just north of Highway 101 near the community of Yettem. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 41-year-old man was traveling south on Road 144 when he drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Honda.
 
The impact caused the man significant injuries. The 67-year-old driver of the Honda suffered moderate injuries.
 
Responding paramedics transported both drivers to Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia.
 
Police determined that the 41-year-old man was driving under the influence and arrested him. However, the man died a couple of hours later.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
