Bicyclist Dies After Crash with Vehicle on 880 Freeway in Hayward

HAYWARD, CA (May 9, 2023) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on 880 Freeway in Hayward late Sunday evening on May 7.

The fatal accident happened around 10:30 p.m. near Tennyson Road. According to the Hayward Police Department, the 29-year-old victim from Hayward was riding his bicycle when he collided with a vehicle.

The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.

The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man, stayed on the scene and cooperated with police.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. An investigation is underway.
