Man Dies in 2-Car Crash near Powhatan Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (July 2, 2021) — A man died in a 2-car accident near Powhatan Road and Central Road Wednesday evening.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal two-car crash happened around 7:00 p.m.
For unexplained reasons, the 57-year-old man allowed his southbound Mazda6 to cross into the northbound lane of Central Road. As a result, the Mazda collided head-on with a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old.
Shortly after, Good Samaritans tried rendering aid. However, the man in the Mazda died at the scene. As for the teen, paramedics had to extricate him from his Jeep and airlift him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
