Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash near Florida Avenue

 
HEMET, CA (July 2, 2021) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident near Florida Avenue and Inez Street Thursday morning.
 
According to the Hemet Police Department, the crash happened around 6:15 am. For unknown reasons, the female pedestrian reportedly stepped directly in front of an oncoming 2008 Chrysler 300. As a result, the eastbound Chrysler struck the woman at roughly 40 miles per hour.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported the woman to Hemet Valley Medical Center where she died, despite life-saving efforts.
 
At this time, authorities have confirmed that DUI did not play a role in the pedestrian accident near Florida Avenue. Although, the case remains under investigation.
