71-Year-Old Woman Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Figueroa Street

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (July 2, 2021) — A 71-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Figueroa Street near 112th Street Thursday evening.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fatal crash happened around 9:20 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver struck the woman who was reportedly in a wheelchair and crossing the street at the time. Soon after, the driver sped away and failed to render aid.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the unidentified woman died at the scene. At this time, detectives need witnesses’ help in locating and identifying the suspect. Thus, if anyone has additional information, please contact the Los Angeles police.
