Single Car Involved in Accident on Highway 101 in Carpinteria
CARPINTERIA, CA (March 20, 2021) – A man sustained injuries in a car accident on Highway 101 on March 16.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Bates Road at approximately 4:20 AM.
Based on a report, a red Mini was going south on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it left the highway, rolled down an embankment, and landed on its side along the train tracks.
The crash deployed the car’s airbags. As a result, the driver, a man in his 20s, was able to get himself out of the car and walk back up to the highway. The Carpinteria Summerland Fire Protection District said the victim sustained minor injuries. Crews transported him to Cottage Hospital for treatment.
As of now, the cause of this accident on Highway 101 is still under investigation.
