Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Car on Copco Avenue in Gorman

 
GORMAN, CA (July 4, 2021) – A man was hit and killed by a car on Copco Avenue in Gorman Friday evening, July 2.
 
Around 9:28 p.m., officers responded to the 45100 block of Copco Avenue near the 5 Freeway and found a pedestrian lying in the street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Dodge Challenger struck the victim, causing him severe injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 59-year-old man from Squaw Valley, California.
 
The male driver of the Challenger stopped after the crash.
 
It is unknown at this time if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor. This fatal accident remains under investigation.
