John Black and Luis Garcia Die in Possible Fentanyl Exposure During Los Angeles Maintenance Work
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 16, 2022) — Luis Garcia and John Black died of a possible fentanyl exposure during an apartment complex maintenance on Olive Street near 8th Street.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers found the two men at the apartment complex just before 11:00 a.m.
Both unconscious, 31-year-old Garcia and 52-year-old Black died at the scene after possibly being exposed to fentanyl at the abandoned complex.
It appears a relative of one of the workers contacted the building manager after having not seen or heard from the victim since Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the pair of workers was performing a maintenance operation inside. However, when the manager walked in, they found the two men unresponsive.
After that, authorities found a white substance in the vicinity of the room that tested positive for Fentanyl.
At this time, police have made no arrests. Although, an ongoing investigation should confirm the details. If anyone has more information, please call the police.
