Three Dead, Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 12

LODI, CA (May 16, 2022) — Three people died following a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 12 on Friday, May 13.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at 2:19 p.m. a Hyundai Elantra moved east on the highway at more than 100 mph. Then it veered off the road into the shoulder and lost control.

The car subsequently swerved back into the road. Then it crashed into a Honda Pilot that had been in front of the Hyundai. The force of the collision forced both cars into the westbound lane where they crashed with a third car, a Toyota Camry.

The Hyundai and the Honda rolled over and came to a stop in a water-filled ditch.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as a 28-year-old woman, died at the scene together with two male passengers in the Honda, ages 25 and 30.

Medics rushed the driver of the Honda and the driver and passenger in the Toyota to a local hospital for treatment.

CHP said they still have not determined if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.

Our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the deceased victims.
