Traffic Slowed after Head-On Accident on Highway 94 near Big Bar Road

 
CALAVERA COUNTY, CA (April 18, 2024) – A head-on accident caused blocked traffic lanes on Highway 49, Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on April 16. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided head-on near Big Bar Road.
 
Responders temporarily blocked affected traffic lanes to make way for clearing operations and an investigation. At least two tow trucks arrived to remove the damaged vehicles.
 
It is unknown if there were injuries sustained in the collision. However, emergency crews reported that all occupants were able to safely exit the vehicles involved.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
