Jesus Villanueva Killed, Angela Dyer Detained in DUI 2-Car Crash on Larkin Street and Victor Street

 
SALINAS, CA (January 2, 2023) — Jesus Villanueva died in a two-car accident on Larkin Street and Victor Street.
 
According to Salinas police, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened Wednesday night near Laurelwood Elementary School. For DUI-related reasons, 48-year-old Angela Kay Dyer crashed her Jeep SUV into a Honda in a head-on fashion.
 
Arriving authorities found the two cars nearly 30 feet apart and with significant front-end damage.
 
Dyer, conscious and alert, survived the accident with minor injuries. However, the Salinas City Firefighters Association had to free 40-year-old Jesus Villanueva who was trapped inside his car. Following attempts to treat him for major injuries, emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Authorities later determined that DUI played a factor and arrested Dyer for gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI. She remains incarcerated at Monterey County jail with a bail set at $200,000.
