Jesus Avila Killed in 2-Car Crash on Sperry Avenue near American Eagle Avenue

 
PATTERSON, CA (June 13, 2023) — Jesus Avila died in a two-car accident on Sperry Avenue near American Eagle Avenue.
 
According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place around 4:41 a.m. Friday. Upon responding to calls about a crash, deputies found two vehicles involved.
 
In the investigation, officials learned that Jesus Zeferino Avila, of Newman, lost control of his 2022 BMW when he hit a dip in the middle of the intersection at a high rate of speed. As a result, the BMW went airborne before hitting a center median and a 2023 Tesla, driven by a 36-year-old Patterson resident.
 
Authorities determined that the accident occurred at a construction zone area of the road.
 
Despite receiving life-saving measures, Avila passed away in the crash. The driver of the Tesla suffered minor injuries to the arm and received care at the scene.
 
Although traffic investigators do not suspect impairment to have played a role in the accident, they are looking forward to the toxicology report for its final conclusion.
