Isabella Herrera Detained for DUI, Striking Man Changing Tire on Highway 78 near Emerald Drive

 
VISTA, CA (February 28, 2023)— Isabella Herrera faces DUI charges after hitting and killing a man who was changing a tire on Highway 78 near Emerald Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal DUI accident happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. A man was reportedly changing a tire near his gray Chevrolet HHR. Subsequently, 22-year-old Herrera approached the scene and struck the man and his vehicle parked on the center divider.
 
Soon after, CHP officers and paramedics responded to the scene but pronounced the unidentified man deceased on arrival. A technician specialized in impairment checks also responded and confirmed that the Oceanside woman, the driver of the Buick, was under the influence.
 
Officers arrested her for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
