Fiery Crash near 13th Street in Sacramento Leaves Hit-and-Run Suspect with Significant Injuries

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (January 21, 2024) – A hit-and-run suspect was injured in a fiery crash near 13th Street in Sacramento early Saturday morning on January 20.
 
Sacramento police officers initially responded to reports of a fight near 10th and K streets around 1:00 a.m. One person entered a vehicle and took off.
 
The suspect then struck a pedestrian, who suffered minor injuries, and fled the scene.
 
Minutes later, the suspect crashed into a bollard near 13th Street and the vehicle became engulfed in flames.
 
One of the officers pulled the suspect out of the burning vehicle. Paramedics then took the suspect to a hospital with significant injuries.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
