Hector Rabinal Dies after Struck by DUI Driver in Ontario, Jessica Dewet Arrested
ONTARIO, CA (July 7, 2021) – Hector Eduardo Rabinal was killed after a suspected intoxicated driver struck him while crossing an Ontario street Monday morning.
Around 11:15 a.m. on July 5, CHP officers responded to the area of Euclid Avenue and Riverside Drive after receiving reports of a crash involving two pedestrians.
According to Ontario police, Rabinal and another local vendor were crossing Riverside Drive when the suspect vehicle struck them.
As a result, Rabinal died at the scene. The second vendor suffered critical injuries.
The driver, 43-year-old Jessica Dewet of Chino, sustained minor injuries. Police arrested her on charges of felony driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.
The GoFundMe account set up on behalf of Rabinal surpassed $4,000 as of Tuesday morning.
