55-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Via Rancho Parkway in Escondido

ESCONDIDO, CA (November 8, 2024) – A 55-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Via Rancho Parkway, early Wednesday morning.

According to the Escondido Police Department, the incident happened on November 6, at about 5:30 a.m. The pedestrian attempted to cross the parkway when a vehicle hit him near the Westfield North County Mall.

Despite lifesaving efforts on the part of bystanders, officers, and paramedics, the victim died at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

As per reports, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
