Hit-and-Run Car Knocks Bicyclist Unconscious near Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma

 
POINT LOMA, CA (August 27, 2022)Ed Maestas was hurt in a hit-and-run crash in Point Loma on Thursday morning, August 18.
 
The crash happened at the intersection of Ladera Street and Cordova Street, just near Sunset Cliffs. According to the San Diego Police Department, the 63-year-old victim from Ocean Beach was riding his bicycle west on Ladera Street.
 
He was coming down the hill at 20 to 25 mph when he crashed into a car that turned right in front of him without warning.
 
After the crash, the car took off. Police described it as a possible black Chrysler Sebring convertible with damage on its right side.
 
Maestas, who was not wearing a helmet, was knocked unconscious. He suffered road rash and bruises across his body, along with bruised ribs and stitches in his arm.
