Driver Dies in Martinez 3-Car Crash on Highway 4

 
MARTINEZ, CA (February 2, 2023) — A driver died in a 3-car accident on Highway 4 near Pine Street early Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the three-vehicle collision happened around 4:17 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a westbound Ford hatchback crashed into the center divider, causing the vehicle to become disabled in the westbound lanes. Subsequently, a westbound Lexus crashed into the Ford before a Toyota SUV crashed into the disabled Ford.
 
Moments later, paramedics and officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the Ford driver deceased on arrival. The Lexus and Toyota drivers reported no injuries in the crash.
