Rosa Alvarenca, Maria Rodriguez Uninjured in Deadly Accident on Avenue J near 200th Street

 
LANCASTER, CA (February 2, 2023) — Rosa Alvarenca and Maria Rodriguez escaped injuries in Tuesday’s fatal crash on Avenue J near 200th Street.
 
According to a California Highway Patrol report, the fatal accident happened around 7:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 2004 Toyota was stopped in the road, blocking the eastbound and westbound lanes of Avenue J. The driver, a 68-year-old woman, was standing outside of the vehicle when a westbound 2011 Ford struck her.
 
The unidentified 68-year-old woman from Riverside died in the crash.
 
As for the 52-year-old Ford driver — Alvarenca, of Barstow — and her 56-year-old passenger — Rodriguez, of Barstow — they reported no injuries in the incident.
 
At this time, authorities are looking into the factors leading to the accident. If anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
