Weekend Hit-and-Run at Lone Tree Way and Muirwood Drive in Antioch

ANTIOCH, CA (February 12, 2021) — Through the help of a witness, the Antioch police were able to locate a driver involved in a hit-and-run at Lone Tree Way and Muirwood Drive.

According to the officers, they were responding to a collision between a car and an SUV at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday when one of the vehicles fled the scene.

The hit-run-run vehicle, described as a gray Buick, then ran a red light. While barely drivable and with airbags deployed, the vehicle kept on going on Lone Tree Way for more than two miles.

An unnamed witness, who reportedly saw all of this unfold from a safe distance, gave a description and license plate of the vehicle to the police.

After locating the Buick and its driver, the police learned that the driver had a suspended license and does not have insurance. They impounded the vehicle and cited the driver scheduled to appear in court.

Meanwhile, no one sustained any serious injuries in the crash according to the police.
