Tomato and Grape Spill after Truck Accident on Fresno Coalinga Road near El Dorado Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 10, 2021) – A driver sustained injuries early Wednesday morning in a truck accident on Fresno Coalinga Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 4, shortly after midnight. The driver of a truck carrying tomatoes reportedly ran the stop sign at Oakland Avenue. Then, the truck T-boned a semi-truck carrying grapes near El Dorado Avenue.
 
The impact of the collision trapped the driver of the tomato truck inside the cab.
 
Emergency responders extricated the trapped driver. An air ambulance then transported the victim to a Fresno hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
The accident caused a massive tomato and grape spill at the intersection.
 
CHP continues to investigate the accident.
