Car Launches off 15 Freeway and Lands in Ditch near 805 Freeway in City Heights

 
CITY HEIGHTS, CA (August 10, 2021) – Four people sustained injuries early Thursday morning after a car launches off 15 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 5, at about 5:30 a.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a Toyota Corolla veered off southbound 15 Freeway. Then, the vehicle landed in a ditch just south of 805 Freeway.
 
Four people were able to exit the vehicle. However, the victims needed emergency assistance to climb up the hill.
 
Emergency crews transported two of the victims to UC San Diego Medical Center and the other two to Scripps Mercy Hospital.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
