Diana Aguirre Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Highway 74 near Ethanac Road

 
PERRIS, CA (October 21, 2022) — Diana Aguirre died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 74 near Ethanac Road.
 
According to Officer Mike Lassig, the fatal hit-and-run occurred around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday. Aguirre, of Perris, reportedly tried to cross the highway at Ethanac Road from the north to the south side on the four-lane corridor. However, a silver Honda Accord traveling westbound at an unknown speed struck her in the roadway.
 
Due to the impact, Aguirre was hurled onto the Honda’s windshield and came to a rest in the westbound No. 1 lane. The driver, who remains at large fled the scene and possibly exited the highway in an unknown direction.
 
Soon after the crash had occurred, Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the scene and pronounce Aguirre deceased shortly after. It appears the accident happened where there is no marked pedestrian crosswalk.
 
At this time, investigators are looking for a 2008 to 2012 Honda Accord model. If anyone has seen this crash, please call the CHP’s Temecula office at 951-506-2000.
