Dennis Stewart Dead, Teresa Malone Hospitalized, Matthew Vaz, Wayne Jobb Uninjured in 2-Car Crash on Highway 99 near Bogue Road

 
YUBA CITY, CA (March 7, 2022) — Dennis Albert Stewart died in a two-vehicle accident involving a big rig on Highway 99 near Bogue Road on Friday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 9:50 a.m. For unknown reasons, 56-year-old Stewart allowed his northbound 1994 Ford Ranger to veer into the southbound lane. Subsequently, Matthew Vaz of Newman tried to steer his southbound big rig into the right shoulder to avoid an imminent accident.
 
However, both vehicles collided anyhow. As a result, the pickup spun underneath the big rig, ejecting Stewart onto the road.
 
Soon after, paramedics and authorities responded and pronounced Stewart deceased at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, a team of medics brought his 50-year-old passenger — Teresa C. Malone — to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville with major injuries.
 
As for 44-year-old Vaz and 67-year-old Wayne Jobb, whose 2003 Mercedes-Benz was hit by debris, both escaped harm.
