David Pina Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 99 [Modesto, CA]

46-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 99 near Kansas Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (February 5, 2023) – David Pina was killed in hit-and-run crash Modesto late Thursday evening on February 2.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:41 p.m. on Highway 99, just south of Kansas Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, Pina was running in the northbound lanes of the highway when a vehicle struck him.
 
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.
 
Responding paramedics found Pina lying in the first and second lanes of the highway. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Pina was 46 years old from Stockton, according to the coroner’s office.
 
It is unknown how many other vehicles may have struck him as he laid in the traffic lanes.
