Danny Silva Killed in Head-On Accident on Santa Monica Freeway [Los Angeles, CA]

Early Morning Head-On Crash on Santa Monica Freeway Kills 27-Year-Old Man

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 24, 2022) – Danny R. Silva was killed in a head-on accident on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Los Angeles, early Saturday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:25 a.m. on January 22, just west of La Cienega Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, Silva was driving a white 2018 Mazda MX5 Miata roadster westbound in eastbound lanes directly toward a black 2012 Infinity EX35 SUV, driven by a 54-year-old Los Angeles man.
 
The SUV driver swerved to the right to try to avoid the roadster which still crashed into the SUV head-on.
 
As a result, Silva suffered significant injuries. Paramedics attempted saving him, but he died at the scene. He was a 27-year-old Lynwood resident.
 
The SUV driver suffered moderate injuries.
 
Both drivers were the sole occupants in their vehicles.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The CHP asked anyone with further information to contact Del Rosario at 310-642-3939.
