Child Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Nectarine Avenue in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (August 31, 2022) – A child died in a pedestrian accident on Nectarine Avenue in Goleta on Tuesday afternoon, August 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:45 p.m., just between Mandarin Drive and Alondra Drive. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, an unknown vehicle struck the child in the area in unclear circumstances.
 
Paramedics immediately responded and took the child to an area hospital. Sadly, the child did not survive and died while undergoing treatment.
 
The name, age and hometown of the victim were withheld at this time.
 
It is unknown if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
This fatality is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response Team.
