Casey Mersbergen Dies after Struck by SUV on 10 Freeway near Lovekin Boulevard

 
BLYTHE, CA (June 16, 2021) – Casey Van Mersbergen died in a pedestrian accident late Sunday evening on 10 Freeway in Blythe.
 
The accident happened around 11:50 p.m. on June 13, just west of Lovekin Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 37-year-old pedestrian was near the center divider when a blue Ford SUV struck her.
 
Responding paramedics found Mersbergen lying on the ground with significant injuries. They attempted saving her, but she died at the scene about 20 minutes later.
 
The coroner’s office said Mersbergen was from El Mirage, Arizona.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. However, an investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
